Export the quiz from Canvas as a QTI .zip file. A class list is optional: it gives each student a card with their name and number.

Randomize seats Each student gets a random seat, printed on their card and the attendance sheet.

Specify Seat Labels Use this when you want seat numbers that aren't sequential e.g. (2, 4, 6), or seats with alphanumeric names like “A4, B6” or “Row H, Seat 5”. Without labels seats are numbered from 1 to the number of students. Labels are only used when Randomize seats is ticked; adding them ticks it.

Separate seats with commas: A1, A2, A3.
Or put each seat on its own line. Then a seat may contain commas, such as Row H, Seat 5.
You need at least one seat per student. Repeated labels count once; spare seats stay empty.

Class List Options Change which field is the Student Number, export fields from the class list into the QR code (such as seat number).

Student ID column:

The number printed on each card and used by MasterTest Marker to match marks to students. Every student needs a different one.

Fields exported into the answer card QR code Use this if you want this information to appear in the CSV export from your phone (e.g. SIS Login ID).

The student name, ID and card serial are always included. Extra fields appear in MasterTest Marker's results; each one makes the QR code a little denser.

Attendance Sheet Options: An attendance sheet is generated if you have loaded a class list.

Layout

How the questions and answers appear on paper. Every layout can be marked with the MasterTest Marker app.

Print Options Change margins, fonts, spacing and instructional text.

Pad OptionsEvery multiple-choice question gets as many bubbles as the question with the most options (the default). Untick to print one bubble per option. Show PointsPrint each question's point value. Suppress Quiz InstructionsLeave out the quiz's instructions from Canvas.

The instructions are printed under every question of that kind. Leave a box empty for the standard text (shown in grey); type none to print nothing.

Advanced Options QR code quality, seed value.

QR code quality: How much of each QR code can be smudged, folded or written on and still read. Higher levels make denser codes; L helps cards with many questions or extra QR fields fit. answer_key.csv: ,commas, 0.5 ;semicolons, 0,5 as the spreadsheet that opens it expects: semicolons for French Excel. The default follows the print language. Seed: the same seed, files and options print exactly the same exams again
